Greetings! Today I had to run a workshop on working with teens out in nature and how to use objects for 48 Miami Dade County and Nat'l Park Service Park Rangers. I felt like I needed to look professional and wear Florida nature friendly colors, so this is what I had on.

Music Monday: All I Want for Christmas

I know I've been MIA...it's a crazy busy time of year! Art Week wiped me out and last week was all about taking those last minute holiday orders and catching up! But...I'm back and will be happily posting this week. Like most of you I have been very reflective the past few days, and I personally have been squeezing my Mini a lot more often and for longer periods of time (that is, as long as a toddler will let you). I can't imagine...and really don't want to imagine my life without Mini. So, I am going to continue to pray and will be writing my senators to voice my opinion, and I will count my blessings this holiday season.

Here is one of my favorite Christmas songs, Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas if You" ...but this time performed with a twist! I hope you will enjoy this!

Music Monday: Peter Cincotti "My Favorite Time of Year"

My husband loves the seasonal music channel on Comcast, 833. This time of year they play holiday music and it was there that I first heard Peter Cincotti sing "My Favorite Time of Year". I love Christmas music and this song has become a modern favorite of mine. I have a short list for favorite Christmas music, and this song is definitely on there. I will be sharing other songs as the month progresses.

Thursday Threads: All I Want for Christmas

This month I am going to be sharing some great gift ideas...primarily inspired by things I want, I think my child wants, and I think my friends want. Today, we're going to look at a few things I want.


This necklace is on the top of my list. Yes, I know I have a lot of baubles, but there are some classic things that every girl should have. This necklace is from J.Crew and is a beautiful classic piece. It's available now for $165. Good for daily wear and for a special occasion, a definite addition to any collection!

Then I found this stunner courtesy of our friend Kate Spade. The clutch is called "Knock on Woodpecker" and it too can be yours for $328.  It is beyond adorable and such a twist on the normal run of the mill evening clutch.

I also really like these fun flats from our friends at the Gap. Camo is a neutral so you could wear them in the same way you would wear brown shoes. They are $40 and very versatile. The Gap's flats are fantastic! They are comfortable, long lasting and affordable!

So there you have it, something at various price points that only would make me happy...but could make lots of girls happy!

Art Talk Tuesday: Christmas Time is Here

A few years ago my mom stopped putting up a Christmas tree, instead she manages to find the biggest pointsettia plant and places it in ilue of a tree. Somehow that plant, her nativity and presents scattered near these two make her Christmas decor perfect. Every time I see a pointsettia I think about her, which is why I thought the first of my Holiday inspired Art Talk Tuesdays would be this drawing I did of the festive plant.
