A Special Room Just for You

Cas/Wolfie are going to have a very pretty room you know. This pretty room will also be fun, full of children's books I have collected over the years, my old stuffed animals and I am determined to at one paint give this child a chalkboard wall.
As for decor... there are some pieces of furniture that we already know will go into the nursery---a great red dresser, and a bookcase from Potterybarn which will be painted red to match the dresser.
We also have been offered a very pretty fabric called, "Kenya" by my mom, a.k.a. Coco. So when you have those two elements...you are left with the question...what bedding to get...and what to paint the walls? As you know from my art and my wardrobe, I love color. So what about yellow gingham bedding and kelly green walls like on this teacup? Or maybe light blue walls...girls can live in blue rooms...I did.

Anyhow---thoughts....let me know what you think.

  1. I love (!!!!!!) the fabric your mom picked out. I love the giraffes. And, I love the yellow gingham, kelly green, the red. Love it. Love it. Love it. Can I say again how much I love all of your components. You're for sure going to get my prize for best nursery in our lil' group. Not that the others aren't great -- they are -- but your palette and patterns just ring my bell. I'm sure no matter what you decide, it will be lovely.

  2. P.S. little girls can totally do light blue. IMO. Love it all, Ceci!

  3. I DEEPLY desire a kelly green wall in my house. I think it's perfect for a nursery (and we are painting the inside of Grif's closet green.) I also was a girl who loved, and still loves, the color blue. I think it totally works!

Another fab website-- www.babybedding.com and www.javisdavis.com. I wasted MUCH time designing everything (that I've ended up not using.) Still fun.

  7. my oldest had the palest blue (almost a little periwinkle tone) room for years and it was the most serene room in our house - it was like being outside, with that pale summer sky - but indoors!
