It was a great night for fashion last night! There are some things I liked which I could not find pictures of... like Annette Benings' earrings...Anne Hathaway's earrings in the blue dress...oh and

Adventures with the Bee

Anyhow-- I also kept working on the color sketches for the book I am working on right now. Here is a glimpse at one of the pages.

Miami Circle Ensemble
I knew there'd be plenty of press (I did end up on the news on a few channels)...so I wanted to raise the bar 500% from yesterday's ensemble...(what do you think?) All in black and decked out in Kristin Pearce jewels, I think my mission was accomplished. Plus there were a good number of dignitaries and museum friends...so several reasons to look cute.
Above is a picture of me with my dear friend from work, la Doctora...and below pictures of the circle and the phase 1 masterplan drawing.
The Miami Circle is an ancient Tequesta Indian site and today it is part of a passive park on the mouth of the Miami River and is now officially open to the public to enjoy.

Not My Favorite

Mind you the purples and greens in the scarf are actually really pastels, not bright...as is the pink I'm wearing...they are more blush pinks.
Still...not a fan.

Another Spring Fashion

So Oprah told me that wearing nude color heels will make me look slimmer...maybe it was Nate Berkus...point is...after searching and finding the perfect pair...I found an inexpensive perfect pair!
Since I am NOT a heel wearing girl, finding a nice comfortable pair is important. My favorites are Cole Haan's Nike Air heels...but these are not the $250 CH's... these are the $30 Target edition!

Orange & Blue

This ensemble has to be my favorite. I love the bright orange pants with the pale blue shirt and long strand of black pearls. Classic.
In the fall of 2008, J.Crew came out with some bright orange pants (more traffic cone, less tangerine)...they were lovely. This morning I sported them with a chambray shirt and brown belt. I'm not as svelte as Tilda, but I think I am pulling off the look well.
I'm really excited that fun color pairings are coming in full force this spring.

Back to the Drawing Board...Literally
Last night I finished up the second round of drawings for the book I
am illustrating. The book is about a bee and its relationship with his friend a cat. It's a very cute story and as soon as the author and "producers" are happy with this set of drawings I will begin the color drawings.
This is the opening scene, the cat is at home in the kitchen while its human family is working on breakfast.

Iggy Peck Architect

I am in love with this book! Iggy Peck Architect (Beaty, Roberts) is a fun read for parents and children. I have to say I am enamored by Iggy's mom's ensembles in the book.
My dear friend Chris who lives in NYC with 2 boys sent it to Baby C for her birth. His eldest is currently a big fan of Iggy's adventures...so if you have a Lego lover in your life, or are a fan of beautifully illustrated quirky stories, I highly recommend this book.
