Slice of Miami Pie at Books and Books...Now Open!

It has been a long summer leading to this night. Friday morning, D and I went over to Books and Books in Coral Gables and hung 18 new paintings. Most of them you have seen previews of, but some I kept a secret.
To hang the show we first laid everything out on the floor to figure out spacing and color schemes. Once they were up, I took my touch up marker and made sure everything looked just right for the opening later that night.

Two long halls are now covered in my work. One side is the Pie Series and the other is the Miami Alphabet. That's how this show got its name, Slice of Miami Pie.

Right from 7pm to 10pm a steady stream of gallery walk goers, family and friends came to see and support. One of the very nice parts of it all is that I sold 2 pieces in the first night! I hope a few more find a nice home.
As I just moved and am dealing with "Boxtown" I am going to slowly be posting details of the paintings over the coming weeks. The paintings will all be up until the end of the month, so if you are in Miami and did now get to see the pieces on Friday night, you can stop by and see then at any time! the way...yesterday the talented Sheri Mazariegos took our prego pics and she has already posted a preview on her blog! Check it out here.
