Last summer I decided to paint a double banyon tree for the Books and Books Art Show. These bayons are very common throughout Coral Gables and they make gorgeous statements.Out of the blue a friend of mine sent me an email yesterday asking for a list of available pieces. I quickly sent it to her with prices, and a few emails later, she decided to purchase Double Banyon while her husband is out of town. When he gets home, the lovely painting that she said reminds her of "a marriage, strong and interwoven" will be there waiting for him.
Today I added my signature note to the buyer in the back, wrapped it up in my traditional brown paper and delivered it to Heather's cute house in Coral Gables.
I'm so happy to know that this painting (one of my all time favorites) is in a loving home....and the best part is I will get to see it every time I go over to their house.
It was a good day.

ReplyDeleteYes, it represents what I believe marriage should be - the uniting of two inviduals that come together and become stronger and more beautiful - but without losing their own identity. The double banyons even look like they are holding hands because they want to... not because they have to...
Enough philosphy. I have the perfect spot for it!
